Just two weeks ago, I learned that my dad had passed away. It wasn’t what I expected to hear from Mom when I called her that Friday night.
“Your father has died.”
Short, simple and to the point. I don’t think I said anything for almost a minute. Her words reverberated over and over in my mind. [...]

It was just under a year ago that my team of co-employees and I were gathered for the annual safety awareness meeting. We were all pretty excited because it meant we’d have at least an hour away from our desks.
We filed into the training room, picking up safety packets that sat on a table at [...]

Call it strange. Call it dumb. Call it at the very least a prime example of how drug use messes up the brain.
In Manhattan, a couple of men in their mid-60’s walked into Hell’s Kitchen and made an attempt to cash their friend’s check. The pair, David J. Dalaia and James O’Hare, both had criminal [...]

Jane Hambleton probably never expected to have her story posted all over the web or featured in news articles around the nation. Admittedly, she was hoping to get some attention when she placed an ad in the local periodical, The Des Moines Register.

Initially I had planned to post what I felt about all the lastest gossip: Britney arrested after long domestic dispute over the children at her home. She refused to relinquish her children over to ex-husband, Kevin Federline. She was removed from the property by paramedics, authorities stated that they suspected her to be under the influence of [...]

Mom is gone so now the diet begins. It’s not that I eat terribly when Mom is here. But I do eat more -especially carbs. Mom loves pasta. She also cooks more meat than I would in a typical week. Then there’s the cookies and goodies that get baked for her grandson that are too tempting [...]

To my fellow dancers, you will probably be the few who appreciate the following rant.
So I’m loosely watching the Rose Bowl Parade. Loosely, because I’m not really into parade watching. I suppose it’s a better experience in person, but on TV I tend to get bored. Sometimes the telecast is ruined by commentators who talk [...]
